Instead of flying from Medan to Malaysia like most people, we spent 24 hours travelling on buses and a ferry from Sumatra to Malacca.

We spent three days on an Indonesian ferry from Jakarta to Medan. We sang karaoke with locals, saw Singapore and many sunsets.

While it's hard to travel without flying, it's not impossible. So, my partner and I are trying a flight-free journey through Southeast Asia.
