We spent three days on an Indonesian ferry from Jakarta to Medan. We sang karaoke with locals, saw Singapore and many sunsets.

Our final days in Java were spent exploring the ancient Prambanan and Borobudur temples and enjoying food with Jogja locals.

East Java offered smoking volcanoes, rainbow villages and stunning sunrises. It also provided a glimpse into the island’s Dutch history.

The start of our Java journey began with a midnight hike, a blue fire volcano and acidic lake, stunning mountain vistas and colourful towns.
